Couple Crashes Wedding on First Date, Bride Thanks Them

A couple who spent its first date crashing a New Jersey wedding reception has apologized.

The only problem is the bride absolutely loved the stunt and wants to see them again!

Wedding-crashers Carly Wolfson and Ritchie Barry planned their outfits and came up with a backstory before attending the wedding on August 6 in Sparta, NJ.

But the couple wasn't there just to see if they could get away with some free food and drinks; many invited guests recall the two being the life of the party, spending most of the evening on the dance floor and even sitting at the best man's table.

At the end of the night, Wolfson and Barry left a card for the bride and groom containing an apology, one dollar and a photo of them.

"Well played my friends...well played!!!" wrote the bride, Karen Fox Tufo, in a Facebook post. "I need to meet these people and buy them a drink. Professional job! You have us the best wedding present anyone could ever ask for!"

In spite of the fortuitous reaction, Wolfson tells CBS-New York that she personally contacted the bride to apologize.

"I messaged her on Facebook apologizing," Wolfson said. "I was like I'm so sorry. She was like, 'Don't be sorry. Best gift ever.'"

Wolfson went on to describe the first-date as a kind of flirty game of chicken.

While some wedding guests reported wondering if the couple was crashing, the two successfully avoided being questioned by the bride and groom throughout the night.

The new Mrs. Fox told CBS that she hopes her wedding crashers end up together...so she can crash their wedding!
