Watch Jack White and Pearl Jam Cover "Seven Nation Army" and Neil Young

Pearl Jam welcomed another alt-rock royal onstage during its encore in Lisbon, Portugal, Saturday night when the band was joined by Jack White for an impromptu collaboration.

White had performed earlier in the night at the city's NOS Alive Festival, but returned to the main stage for the band's take on The White Stripes's one-riff classic "Seven Nation Army" and a gritty and glorious rendition of one of Pearl Jam's favorite covers, Neil Young's "Rockin' in the Free World."

White performed with his solo band in the spot prior to Pearl Jam and reportedly watched the Rock and Roll Hall of Famers' set from the side of the stage.

After finishing up the European tour this week, Pearl Jam will return to North America for its short tour of North American baseball stadiums in August.

The band has pledged to raise $10 million this year for the fight against homelessness, including a $1 million donation from two upcoming shows in Pearl Jam's hometown of Seattle, WA. Fans can lend a hand by donating, volunteering or getting more information here.

Although fans are eagerly awaiting a new album, Pearl Jam bassist Jeff Ament says the band isn't rushing into the studio after its touring obligations this year are fulfilled. He says the band has music written, but the band members want to "live with the ideas" for a bit longer.

Pearl Jam released a new single earlier this year called "Can't Deny Me."
